My Beginning

The Work found me in 2014 after the end of an awful relationship and months of unemployment. With my self-esteem in the toilet, I was willing to try anything out of desperation. Finally, a friend offered me the four questions of The Work while we sat in a coffee shop. All it took was my willingness to honestly respond with an open mind. Life had left me almost homeless, penniless, and heartbroken–in that moment, I had nothing to lose.
After the last question, I felt liberated from what I had been carrying around with me for months, if not years. The pain and suffering that I thought was mine to bear was not. What I believed was an inherent part of life was simply the weight of unquestioned thoughts. Questioning their veracity and putting them to the test of inquiry allowed these burdens to effortlessly leave me for good. Without negative thinking, my emotions lightened up, too.

Self Love
Inquiry helps me reconnect with the deepest parts of myself–the ones I have abandoned, rejected, shamed, and berated–and meet them with the kind of unconditional love that I have wanted from others, including God. I never knew I had the power to embrace myself in a way that I once believed could only come from outside of me. Now, I see I had it backwards. The one true love I’ve been waiting for was always myself.
Freedom from Suffering
The Work is not therapy or advice giving. It is a gentle invitation to get still and notice what arises within the space of awareness, which, for me, contains the power to heal myself of all trauma and disconnection. I have used this practice to work through depression, physical and emotional abuse, neglect, sexual assault, discrimination, failure, self-doubt, criticism, and all other forms of disempowerment. In my experience, there is no hurt too big or too small to be effectively met by The Work. If you would like to sit in The Work, please contact me to set up an appointment.
